Errani and Vavassori defend mixed doubles title at Roland-Garros

Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori successfully defended their mixed doubles title at Roland-Garros 2026, defeating Gabriela Dabrowski and Evan King 4-6, 6-3, 10-4 in 79 minutes on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

After dropping the opening set, the Italian duo raised their level considerably in the second. Errani, at 39 years old, steadied the ship with her trademark court craft, while Vavassori dominated at the net to level the match.

The super tie-break was one-sided. From 4-4, Errani and Vavassori reeled off six consecutive points to seal a 10-4 victory in challenging, windy conditions. The triumph marks their fourth Grand Slam mixed doubles title together, a remarkable run of consistency on the biggest stages.

For Errani, it is her tenth major trophy overall, spanning six women's doubles and four mixed doubles crowns. At 39, her longevity at the highest level remains one of the most impressive stories in modern tennis.

Vavassori continues to establish himself as one of the world's premier doubles specialists. The Turin native, also active on the ATP singles tour, once again proved that his versatility is a significant weapon when paired with Errani.

The victory adds another Italian highlight to a Roland-Garros 2026 that has seen Flavio Cobolli reach his first Grand Slam singles final, continuing an extraordinary fortnight for Italian tennis in Paris.
