Fonseca dominates tiebreak, Tsitsipas fumes over surface
The opening set went to a tiebreak, where Fonseca produced a clinical performance to take it 7-3. Defending champion Ben Shelton, the fifth seed, dispatched fellow American Jenson Brooksby 6-3, 7-5 to book his place in the third round. His title defence remains firmly on course.
Casper Ruud, seeded ninth, delivered the most dominant display of the day by dismantling Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-1, 6-2. The Norwegian converted five of seven break points in a match that lasted barely over an hour. Ruud will face Fonseca in the third round, a clash that promises to pit experience against youthful audacity.

Eleventh seed Lorenzo Musetti had to grind through a tight opening set before finding his range against Colombian qualifier Nicolas Mejia, prevailing 7-6(8), 6-2 after a tense tiebreak. Cameron Norrie dispatched Ignacio Buse 6-3, 6-3 in a straightforward encounter.
Navone and Bergs author comeback wins
Mariano Navone produced the most dramatic turnaround of the day, eliminating 14th seed Valentin Vacherot 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Blown off the court in the first set, the Argentine found tactical solutions to shift the momentum from the second set onwards. Belgian Zizou Bergs, the 31st seed, authored a similar fightback against Sebastian Baez, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 after a poor opening set. Nuno Borges completed the day's results by ousting 26th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-4, 6-2.
