Queen's: Jovic crushes Eala 6-2, 6-2 to reach quarterfinals

Iva Jovic made quick work of Alexandra Eala in the second round at Queen's Club, winning 6-2, 6-2 in just 76 minutes. It was the American teenager's second straight-sets victory over the Filipino player in the span of three weeks, following their first-round clash at Roland-Garros.

The 17-year-old sixth seed delivered a commanding performance on the London grass. Four aces, 80.8% of first-serve points won, and a 71.4% break-point conversion rate (5 out of 7) told the story of a one-sided encounter. Eala, meanwhile, managed to convert just one of her two break opportunities.

Jovic's transition from clay to grass appears seamless. Her aggressive game, built around a powerful serve and clean ball-striking, suits the low-bouncing surface perfectly. After a promising clay season that included her Roland-Garros debut, the American is now making waves at the WTA 500 in London.

For Eala, 21, it was a frustrating repeat. After a confident first-round win over Zhang Shuai (6-3, 6-2), she hoped to turn the tables on Jovic. Instead, the pattern held: straight-sets dominance with little room for resistance.

Up next for Jovic is a quarterfinal clash against fellow American Amanda Anisimova, who dispatched Laura Siegemund 6-1, 6-3 earlier in the day. Anisimova, last year's finalist, will present a significant step up in opposition.
