Roland-Garros 2026 Men's Draw: Sinner the Clear Favourite

The Roland-Garros 2026 men's singles draw was revealed on Thursday afternoon, and Jannik Sinner has every reason to be satisfied. The world number one and top seed will open against French wildcard Corentin Tabur, with Ben Shelton (8) looming as the most dangerous opponent in his quarter.

In the bottom half, Alexander Zverev (2) and Novak Djokovic (3) have been separated into different quarters, but the Serb faces a daunting first-round test against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The towering Frenchman, standing at 6'8" with a devastating serve, could give the three-time Paris champion real trouble from the very first ball. Djokovic, chasing a record 25th Grand Slam title, will need to be sharp from the start.

Felix Auger-Aliassime, the fourth seed, shares the second quarter with Daniil Medvedev (5). The Russian remains Sinner's most dangerous potential semifinal opponent, capable of raising his level when it matters most on the biggest stages.

Carlos Alcaraz's absence due to a right wrist injury reshapes the entire tournament. The two-time defending champion will not defend his crown, leaving a significant gap in the bottom half. Taylor Fritz and young Spanish prodigy Rafael Jodar (14) could capitalise on the open path towards the quarterfinals on Zverev's side.

Another first-round highlight pits Arthur Fils (17) against 2015 champion Stan Wawrinka, who is playing his final Roland-Garros. The main draw begins on Sunday, May 24.
