Novak Djokovic, the third seed and three-time champion, takes on Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in his opening match. The Serb arrives in Paris with an unusually light 2026 schedule: just three tournaments played this season and only one match on clay. His new coaching partnership with Viktor Troicki adds intrigue to his title bid for a record-extending 25th Grand Slam crown.

Alexander Zverev, seeded second and the 2024 finalist, opens against Benjamin Bonzi. The German is drawn in the top half, with a potential collision course toward Jannik Sinner or Djokovic in the latter stages.

Taylor Fritz, the seventh seed, faces American wild card Nishesh Basavareddy in an all-American first-round clash. Fritz looks to build on a solid 2026 campaign with a deep run in Paris.

The biggest absence is Carlos Alcaraz, sidelined with a wrist injury as he pursued a third consecutive Roland Garros title. His withdrawal reshuffles the field and positions world No. 1 Sinner, riding a 29-match winning streak, as the clear favorite. The Italian begins his campaign later in the draw against French qualifier Clément Tabur.

On the women's side, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, defending champion Coco Gauff, four-time champion Iga Swiatek, and Elena Rybakina headline an open women's draw. Sabalenka and Gauff land in the same half, setting up a potential semifinal blockbuster.

Roland Garros 2026 runs from May 24 to June 7, with the men's final on Sunday, June 7, at Court Philippe-Chatrier.
