Nothing came easy for Bouzkova in this final. Udvardy took the opening set in a tiebreak after a closely contested affair where both players held serve consistently. But the Czech found a remarkable second wind, raising her level dramatically over the final two sets to leave her opponent with no answer.

The victory lifts Bouzkova two places in the WTA rankings to 24th in the world, equalling her career-high ranking. A significant achievement for the 27-year-old, who is confirming her consistency at the highest level this season (according to Tennis Tonic).

Bouzkova's run in Bogotá illustrates the maturity she has developed over years on tour. Able to handle the pressure of being the top seed and to turn around a final that started badly, the Czech now possesses the qualities of a player capable of upsetting the established order at major events.

The clay-court season ahead represents an opportunity for Bouzkova to take another step forward. The surface suits her varied game, built on changes of pace and deft touch. With this title under her belt and the confidence it brings, the Czech approaches the coming weeks with legitimate ambitions, whether in Madrid, Rome or Roland-Garros.

For Udvardy, despite the defeat, this final in Bogotá confirms her steady progress. The Hungarian, who strung together solid victories throughout the week, continues to establish herself as a player to watch on clay.
