WTA Rankings: Kostyuk surges to career-high, Pliskova makes remarkable comeback

Monday's WTA rankings reflect the seismic shifts from Madrid. Marta Kostyuk, the Madrid champion, surges from 23rd to a career-high 15th. The 23-year-old Ukrainian confirms her meteoric rise on clay this season.

Hailey Baptiste, the surprise semifinalist in Madrid, enters the Top 25 for the first time, climbing from 32nd to 25th. The 22-year-old American proved her game can compete with the elite on any surface.

Three players simultaneously break into the Top 30: Jaqueline Cristian (29th), Ann Li (30th) and Baptiste. Higher up the rankings, Mirra Andreeva rises to world number 7 at just 18 years old, while Iga Swiatek moves up one spot to 3rd.

The most dramatic comeback belongs to Karolina Pliskova. The former world number one, absent for months following ankle surgery, leaps 67 places to reach 130th. An encouraging first step for the 34-year-old Czech who had fallen beyond 200th.

Other notable movers: Anastasia Potapova gains 18 places (38th) after her lucky loser run to the Madrid semifinals, Caty McNally advances to 63rd and Thailand's Lanlana Tararudee cracks the Top 100 for the first time in her career. The women's tour heads to Rome with a hierarchy in full flux.
